Countering Händel
Opera music programme in collaboration with contour tenor Jan Kullmann and mime artist Hakim Traïda
In this music-theatre production, Recorder Ensemble Praetorius, together with mime artist Hakim Traïda and a counter tenor, takes the listener through a landscape of emotions – hate, love, battle and vengeance. A series of arias from Handel’s Italian baroque operas brings a spectrum of emotions before you. The tile of the programme refers, of course, to the role of the counter tenor. But also to “conquering”; In this programme, given in honour of Georg Friedrich Handel year, Recorder ensemble Praetorius “conqeurs” music which was not originally written for recorders. Who knows, you may also be conquered by the emotions of the music!!
