ICRO 2006ICRO 2006, Early Music Festival and ERTA-NL study dayRecorder orchestra Praetorius is organising the second International Congress on the Recorder Orchestra, ICRO 2006, in Leiden, from Friday October 13th until Sunday October 15th. ICRO is a special event that, by means of workshops, presentations, lectures, concerts and a fair, offers its participants the opportunity to investigate and experience numerous aspects of the phenomenon of the recorder orchestra. At the same time, for both recorder players and non-recorder players special events are organised in an Early Music Festival: concerts, guided walks in the old town of Leiden spiced up by street musicians and free presentations of recorder ensembles. Finally, on Saturday October 14th, the study day of the Dutch chapter of ERTA is integrated with ICRO. The underlying theme in all activities, that all take place wonderful old buildings in the old town of Leiden, will be music from Rembrandt’s era to coincide with the national celebrations of the painter’s four-hundredth birthday.
